Zafir has appeared at the Superior Court and Small Claims Court on various civil litigation matters.

Zafir is an active and visible member of the Muslim community in the Region of Peel. He currently is the Secretary of Human Concern International, and is an executive member of the Sayeda Khadija Centre.
